Haskell, an introduction

12/06/2013 - Mark Jones, Ph.D.

Have you found yourself asking of what use is a functional language like Haskell? Ever wondered if it could solve the same problems you are using an Object Oriented language like C++, Java, or C# for? In this talk, Mark will demonstrate how he used Haskell to solve the Snake Cube Puzzle.

Mark Jones is a professor of Computer Science at Portland State University, and is known for developing the Hugs interpreter for Haskell. He is offering a course in functional languages during Winter term 2014, appropriate for both undergraduate and graduate students, with sections corresponding to both levels respectively.
